Program Learning Outcomes

As part of the Travel Counsellor program, you will:

  • Learn to provide a range of services including ground transportation bookings, domestic and international ticketing, hotel accommodation, marine travel, rail travel and more
  • Explore the Travel Agency setting and learn industry terminology, coverage and counselling customers
  • Develop the customer service skills required to excel in the hospitality industry
  • Develop basic computer and keyboarding skills
  • Be trained in office procedures and useful business tools such as Microsoft Office
  • Earn your Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) designation through the Association of Travel Counsellors (ACTA)

Travel Counsellor Program Practicum

You will have the opportunity to participate in a 1-week familiarization trip to a popular travel destination where you will get to experience first hand the different aspects of the travel industry.

You will also participate in a 4-week work practicum in a travel setting where you will gain valuable hands-on experience.
